My dear Bottomley,
Thank you for your letter. I agree warmly that, if
the draft of my letter to Sir Robert Ho Tung is approved, I
should send it first to Hornell, and that nothing should be done
without his full approval.
Lugard has sent me a memorandum on the University
question, and Sir Cecil Clementi is coming to see me
Saturday. The Registrar of this University is going into the
matter of the Classical Chine se qualification.
I will keep you informed, either at our Advisory
Committee meetings or by letter if necessary.
Yours sincerely,
ME Jader
Sir William Bottomley, K.C.M.G., C.B.,
Colonial Office,
Downing Street, S.W. 1.
